My story
My story
My name is Honza. Starting in June 2022, I fought Crohn’s disease for almost three years—until, thanks to meat, I beat it and got well.
Once I understood that the standard treatment would gradually lead to having my bowel removed, I decided to take my health into my own hands. I was lucky. I didn’t just heal an “incurable” disease; I also learned how the human body works, and how the food and pharmaceutical industries—for whom our health comes dead last—shape what we eat and how we’re treated.
I started this site for everyone sitting desperate in a gastroenterologist’s waiting room or scrolling through online forums, living with a similar autoimmune disease that nothing seems to help. I want to share what I studied during my years with Crohn’s (you get a lot of reading done on the toilet) and, above all, what I tried on myself.
Before you start reading, believe me: you can get better. Maybe not completely, and maybe not right away, but your condition can improve very quickly—and from there, how you go on is up to you.
If you have any questions, I’d be glad to hear from you—just write to me. I wish you a strong will and, above all, healing.
The diary

Four years on meat: where I am today
Four years and four months since my first day on meat: how I feel, what I eat every day, the bread experiment that went wrong, and what I’ve learned.

Two and a half years of eating only meat (no bread, no fruit, no vegetables)
More than 17 months since my last post, and the one thing I never changed was the food: still mostly meat, fish and eggs.

Thirteen months on the carnivore diet (OMAD and what I eat now)
Thirteen months ago I set out to treat “incurable” Crohn’s by cutting out fiber, fruit, vegetables, bread, pasta and potatoes. Here’s what I eat now.

Ten months with Crohn’s on a meat-only diet
Ten months after my Crohn’s diagnosis, I’m better. What changed: my head, life without fiber, and finally no longer being afraid of fat.

Two months with Crohn’s on a meat-only diet
Two months ago I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. How I got the diagnosis, what treatment looks like, and why I started eating only meat.
The book · being written now
The whole story, in one place.
The articles on this site are pieces of it. The book puts them in order, fills in what’s missing, and brings it up to date.
- How the disease started, and how I finally got a diagnosis
- Why I turned down the road that led to surgery
- What I eat, and why it calms an inflamed gut
- What the usual dietary advice gets wrong
